1. To start with, WSO2 Carbon is a collection of OSGi components
2. Then, as in the case of the pre-Carbon era, you can build WSO2 WSAS and WSO2 ESB base products, by mixing the required components that deliver the related functionality
3. Then, the power of Carbon platform comes into play. You can mix and match, plug and play with the components, to extend your ESB or WSAS base. This gives you the freedom to grow your architecture, as and when you wish, the way you want, at your own phase.
4. Next, given that you can plug and play any component, why let the service hosting or message mediation functionalities to be in silos? If you want both ESB and WSAS functionalists in single hosting, you could even do that. Everything is possible. Imagine what you want, do what you want, the way you want. You can be rest assured that new functionalities that appear through new components could be plugged seamless. You can extend the platform on your own, if you wish so.
