Gilchrist to retire

This marks the end of an era. With the cricket greats like Warne and McGrath of his time already retired, this will introduce a new phase to Australian cricket.

Analysts have predicted that these retirements would change the face of the game globally. That simply demonstrates the powerful impact these players have had over the years, being far ahead from the rest of the world.

I feel that India has demonstrated that it could become the next cricketing giant. However, there are some old cricketers in that outfit too, like Tendulkar, Dravid and Kumble. Anyway few young people of Indian team are doing well.  Sri Lanka too have some chance of being a good contender, but frankly, I do not think we have right skills to be the world best, with Sanath retiring soon and then Vass and Murali to follow.

Anyway, I prefer a world where one team is not dominating for longer periods. Then there is no excitement. Australia winning so many games on the trot is good for them and for records, but not for the game. When only one team is winning all the time, the game is too boring to watch.
