Fall of Rails?

I see this blog mentioning Twitter is going to abandon Ruby on Rails.

No I am not a Rails opponent. In fact, I am not religious of any of the technologies. :)

It is interesting people have to abandon Rails, due to scalability problems. Many people jumped into Rails, because it was easy to use. Few lines and the job done. But it is a fact that ease of use and scalability do not go hand in hand.

I think Rails is hitting the end of the hype cycle, and approaching the crossing the chasm scenario. Now it is time to face real life.

People start new efforts in open source space, due to various reasons. Some technical, and others social or political. So someone would ask, why Ruby there is PHP, but hey, there is Python too. They all are scripting after all. All these languages, prevents the computing world form building that Babel, the most advanced, one stop shop, programming language that all programmers would use one day. Now God did not want that Babel in place. And by inventing new languages time to time, we very obediently follow God's will. And in return, God has blesses us with jobs, for many years to come, computing world will have to "integrate" diverse systems and maintain those legacies written in many languages, praise be to God and those that prevent form that Babel being built. ;)
