Enterprise Service Bus Performance Round 3

Asankha has published the latest article on WSO2 Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) Performance. These performance tests are based on the latest 1.7 release of WSO2 ESB.

Here is the summary of the findings of this latest round of performance testing.

    * WSO2 Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) displays excellent stability and performance on all scenarios
    * WSO2 ESB v1.7 leads in performance over all other open source alternatives, as well as the proprietary version of the open source ESB benchmarked
    * The performance of the proprietary ESB has improved drastically over the past year, as compared to numbers it gained during the round 1 and round 2

The performance of WSO2 ESB has increased in terms of transactions per second over the last releases. Also, the proprietary ESB has gained considerable ground, specially for the simple proxy cases.

As far as I know, there was no specific effort to fine tune performance on WSO2 ESB in the recent past, leading to the release. But still the performance is far more impressive. If we put some more dedicated effort on performance, I think we would be able to do much better.

The power of WSO2 ESB does not only come form its performance. The simplicity, ease of use, and of course the world class support services form WSO2 makes unique in today's market. And it has been around for some time and has also also got considerable amount of battle testing in real world deployments.
