What is Next?

Last couple of weeks, we did three WSO2 WSF/PHP releases. First came 1.3.0, then two patch releases, 1.3.1 and 1.3.2. I am impressed how much we have improved our capability on cutting a production quality release in a short period of time. The fixes that we did were "hidden" bugs. We are living up to "release early, release often".

WSO2 also have couple of releases in other products in line as well. WSO2 ESB 1.7 will be out soon. I am excited about the possible performance improvements promised with this latest ESB release. Yes, it is already the fastest, and yes, we have more performance improvements. And no, it is not only performance that has been improved. There has been many bug fixes as well as many other feature enhancements. Keep your fingers crossed for this release, I have mine.

The other exciting release form WSO2 coming out soon is the WSO2 Registry 1.1. Again, performance is one of the key highlights. As a result of the concerns raised over the performance of the Mooshup.com, a new database design was put into place and the latest performance results look very promising. What is impressive about this is that we learned form our own mistakes and we managed to overcome our limitations in the core design. Many folks form WSO2 team got involved and the performance results have proven that it has  been well worth the effort. And performance is not the only key highlight in this Registry release. There are many key enhancements. Again, watch out!!!
