What is WSO2 Carbon?

It is written in Java.

It is based on bunch of open source projects including Apache Axis2, Apache Rampart, Apache Sandesha2, Apache Synapse and Apache Ode, to name few.

It is open source with Apache license. (See the project page for source code, issue tracker, forums and mailing list information.)

It is from WSO2. (http://wso2.com)

It is based on OSGi technology. The first ever project to use OSGi in the enterprise middleware space.

It is used as the base platform of the future releases of ESB, WSAS, Registry and the all new BPS (Business Process Server)

It unifies the state of the art capabilities of all the projects from WSO2 into one powerful platform.

It breaks the limitations and barriers created by isolated products, and opens up opportunities for enterprise wide synergies.

WSO2 Carbon is the modern architecture for middleware.

I really don't think you can claim that it is the first piece of enterprise middleware to use OSGi, there are a few other projects/products out there that already support it.
