The next release of WSO2 registry will have serious governance aspects.
The previous life of WSO2 Registry was merely focus as a resource store to handle meta data. There were some elements of governance, but those needed a face lift, when it comes to real world SOA governance.
The new release to be done soon, in couple of months, would have a much better services view in there. In the previous generation of Registry, the use had to dig for services in the pile of resources. No more. The new release would have due prominence to the service aspect that is expected out of a governance tool.
It would also have a monitoring dashboard, that would have some elements of BAM. The administrator would be able to have a much better overall view on the system on a regular basis.
Service interface management, service contract management, security, quality of services, life cycle management and policy enforcement will all be supported with the upcoming GReg (Governance Registry) release.
