Happiness – the different views

I was reading the blog by Nandika on delivering happiness.

There are some inspirational thoughts there. However, some of the things listed are debated – like the criticisms around Maslow's need hierarchy .

Happiness has been a profitable subject, with many books, films and the like around the subject, and obviously these being good money making exercises, given that every human being is looking for it – amazing market demand.

Obviously, happiness is subjective. For each individual, it will have a relative meaning. It also depends on how one understands it.

Many would agree though that happiness is a journey with those memorable moments.

For e.g., it might be the objective to “kiss the most beautiful girl in the world”, and it could be realized in the most amazing means like in The Bucket List.

Or it would be that moment in life, that you get there. Like in the final scene of the Pursuit of Happiness.

“This part of my life, this little part, is called happiness.”

one answer on critic's of need hierarchy is that when people thrive for higher levels .. they may ignore the lower levels. That explains most of the selfless acts. Also people choose to operate at different levels ..

For example, someone who want to make a great poem may choose to not eat and live in rags.

But yes your point still holds .. this is counter argument for one comment only.
